The dreaded diamond!

Apparently this is not something out of a pirate movie, but instead refers to some arcane bit of C++ that I had to deal with today.

The "dreaded diamond" refers to a class structure in which a particular class appears more than once in a class's inheritance hierarchy.

Fortunately it's not dreaded any more, which is something of a relief.
